• Where can I buy pullets in Central Otago?

    You can purchase healthy, vaccinated, free range pullets directly from Tree Range in Alexandra. We raise our birds with care and offer regular availability of Brown Shavers and heritage breeds.

  • Do you offer Delivery?

    We are in Waikerikeri, Alexandra. If you’re further afield and wanting chooks we can assist with arranging transport with two trusted, family-owned courier services that cover much of the lower South Island — including Dunedin, Milton, Roxburgh, Cromwell, Queenstown, Invercargill, and towns along the main routes in between.

  • Do you sell laying hens or only young pullets?

    We primarily sell point-of-lay pullets, around 16–18 weeks old, as well as day old chicks and fertile eggs for hatching. Sometimes have older laying hens available too. Check our website or get in touch for current availability.

  • What chicken breeds do you offer?

    We regularly have Brown Shaver pullets and a range of heritage breeds available. Availability may vary by season—check our website or get in touch for current stock.

  • At what age do your pullets start laying?

    Our Brown Shaver Pullets are usually around 18-20 weeks old when they’re ready to go and should begin laying within a few weeks of settling in. Keep an eye on their combs and wattles these will grow larger and redden in colour before laying.

  • Are your chickens vaccinated?

    Yes, all our pullets are vaccinated against common poultry diseases.They are also wormed before heading out to their new homes.

  • Where can I buy farm-fresh eggs near Alexandra?

    Our free-range eggs are available from our roadside stall in the Waikerikeri Valley, Alexandra which is open 24/7 . They can also be purchased form 1881 in Clyde and Roberts Family Fruit in Earnscleugh Road.

  • Are your eggs free-range or pasture-raised?

    Yes – both! Our name Tree Range is a play on Free Range, inspired by the natural behaviour of chickens. In the wild, they prefer to forage, shelter, scratch, and perch among trees. That’s exactly what our hens enjoy—roaming freely through pasture and forested spaces, living as nature intended.

  • Do you offer bulk egg orders for cafés or restaurants?

    Absolutely. We supply bulk eggs in 30-tray cartons and boxes of 180 - perfect for cafés, food trucks, or community groups. Contact us for regular orders or wholesale pricing.

  • Is your honey raw and unfiltered?

    Yes. Our honey is raw, unpasteurised, and minimally filtered to preserve all its natural enzymes, pollen, and flavour.

  • What types of honey do you sell?

    We offer Raw Unrefined Honey, Naturally Creamed Honey, and Comb Honey. Each variety is made in small batches and reflects the seasonal blooms of Central Otago.

  • Can I return my honey jar for reuse?

    Yes! We love to reuse clean jars. Bring yours back and enjoy a discount on your next honey purchase.

  • I’ve bought chickens – how do I collect them?

    Each lot of pullets is assigned a collection weekend once the birds are fully vaccinated, wormed, and we’ve received the results back from the lab testing. Closer to the time, we’ll be in touch by email with our address and detailed pickup instructions to make the process smooth and stress-free.

    Yes, we offer both pickup and delivery options. All products and poultry can be collected from our roadside stall or farm gate in Waikerikeri Valley, Alexandra. For local delivery of day-old chicks, we’re happy to help. If you’re further afield, we can also assist with arranging transport through two trusted, family-owned courier services that cover much of the lower South Island — including Dunedin, Milton, Roxburgh, Cromwell, Queenstown, Invercargill, and towns along the main routes in between.

    Our roadside stall is open 24/7, so you can stop by anytime to pick up eggs, honey, feed, and more.

    During strawberry season, we open for pick-your-own strawberries — a great time to bring the family and say hello to our animals! Strawberry picking times vary depending on weather and ripening, so we post regular updates online as the season progresses.
